Dagoba Eclipse 87% chocolate bar May 07, 2011
By jds I had the same experience as L.Sherwood. My box of 12 Dagoba organic chocolate eclipse 87% bars arrived only to be thrown out. The color of the chocolate was anything but dark - chalky and varying shades of light brown. Either the product was old or it had been stored incorrectly. Taste was unpleasant, and I am a dark chocolate consumer. Amazon made it right, though, by replacing the order.

Incredible, but... Mar 07, 2009

"mashny"
This is one superb chocolate, but primarily for the more sophisticated chocolate lover. It is intense, rich, smooth, and fills the mouth with its dense flavor the way a good, full-bodied red wine does, but those who eat primarily milk chocolate will probably find Eclipse inedible. An analogy might be someone who loves beer, but primarily drinks Budweiser or Corona, having his first sip of Guinness or Anchor Porter. For those who might find Eclipse too bitter, try working your way up to it over time by eating Dagoba's milk chocolate (the best milk chocolate I've ever had), 59% chocolate, and 74% bars first. All are delicious but not as "intimidating" as the Eclipse bar.

Mmm...Dagoba Eclipse Mar 10, 2008
By Homer J fan Best dark chocolate in America. Whilst I think the majority of Americans would prefer the "new moon" (73%) Dagoba bar, Eclipse is by far my favourite. This is for pure dark lovers.

Had to throw it away May 05, 2011
By Lynn Sherwood I was extremely disappointed to open my box of Dagoba Eclipse chocolate bars and discover that every single one of the 12 bars was old, white and chalky. None if it was edible and all we could do was throw it in the garbage. I'm disappointed that someone would sell that.

Dark as sin but good for you Mar 06, 2009
By R. Kyle Dagoba's Eclipse is 87% cacao. It's dark as sin with a strong slightly bitter taste. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone but fans of pure chocolate and in my opinion, this is the best of the breed. There's enough fiber in this chocolate to pretty much cancel out the carbs, plus it's got lots of antioxidants. Who'd have thunk something so indulgent could be so good for you?
